The objective was to create three different kinds of boxes: flat-fold, rigid, and irregularly shaped. We had creative freedom with the visual designs of the boxes, and I chose to create my boxes into a three-part series.
I designed three boxes with contrasting aesthetics. Each box features a vibrant, playful design on the inside, representing the boundless creativity and joy of our inner child and imagination. Conversely, the exterior of each box is adorned with a more subdued, monochromatic black and white pattern, symbolizing the restraint or inhibition often imposed upon us by societal expectations or adulthood. The act of opening these boxes serves as a metaphorical release, unleashing the colorful exuberance and carefree spirit of our inner child into the world.
I had a lot of fun learning about dielines and experimenting with pattern, shape, and color.
